HBO’S Girls

If you like Judd Apatow’s stuff (especially Freaks and Geeks and Bridesmaids), Louis Ck’s show, Bridesmaids, or just quality programming.

AND I KNOW THERE’S LIKE NOTHING BUT GIRLS THAT FOLLOW ME (That’s not bragging about conquest. that’s just because it’s all my girlfriend’s friends) and there’s a lot of jokes I don’t get because I don’t understand female perspectives.

It’s just such a good fucking show, note these possible problems:

1) The cast has no diversity yet, which has been annoying to a lot of people watching the show that takes place in New York. Lena Dunham is addressing this problem though so don’t worry you’re politically correct head about it too much.

2) The characters are extremely unlikable, selfish, and spoiled. I think that makes this show awesome, but a lot of people prefer shows where the main character are more sympathetic.

3) The first episode is like WTF, this show isn’t funny or interesting. It’s a developed taste I guess.

As an upper middle class white kid, this show is very true. It satirizes all the aspects of upper middle class kids and their problems without being overly preachy or annoying with it.

I am a terrible person

Today I was wearing my college shirt (Sarah Lawrence College to be exact!) which is pretty uncommon because most people at a liberal arts school don’t like to show support for their school in terms of clothing (except irony sometimes).

Anyways I was in the elevator and these two girls walk in, one of them says “Oh wow, I should really get a shirt that just plainly says the school’s name like that”

I knew she was being ironic and maybe even a little mean so I said

“Yeah, and the best part is, no one suspects A THING” Then I opened my eyes really wide and both girls immediately got off on the next floor
